An example of how I use Copilot

Copilot was not involved in creating this post! This is an example of how I use Copilot in my workflow as the Honest Audiophile. I did not correct any mistypes, spellings or grammar. This is how I use Copilot to edit my original thoughts into a cohesive and comprehensible final product.

I start with an idea, thought and paragraph. This example is a brief explanation of how I volume match. I typed this into Copilot "To make sure I am matching volume levels as closely as possible when reviewing, I use a Digital Sound Level Meter. I know this isn't the best way to match volumes but it is a process that I have been doing for the last 8 years. Basically, I turn off all fans and noisey applances in my office then I measure the noise level. Then I stick the sound level meter inside the earcup of a headphone or against the nozzle of the IEM and play music, using a more dynamic track usually something like Two Steps from Hell "Victory". I keep the volume levels between 65-75db. I test the headphone I am comparing and make sure it is measuring at the same levels. This is how I volume match; not the most scientific but it keeps my impressions more aligned as I understand louder usually sounds better even though that isn't the real case."

Copilot responded this way:

As you can see by the example, Copilot didn't create a new article or change the chain of thought, What Copilot did was clean up the structure and grammar issues.

Now let's add a link from Amazon to the sound level meter I use. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ECCZWWI?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_34

I want the conclusion to have my personal touch so I am going rephrase the ending slightly. I want the inclusion of Honesty is the Best policy.

I am happy with the post, so I am going to copy it and paste into Youtube Community page.

I am going to schedule it for Feb 26, 2026

I advise Copilot that I have scheduled for Feb 26 community post.

Copilot gives me some feedback about its thoughts for the scheduled date and some thoughts to consider for ideas. As you can clearly see, I came up with the idea and the wording, Copilot did the editing. Sure I could have a human do the same thing but I do not have a human that is around and that actually wants to sit and do the editing. My wife is the only option and she is busy with life and has no interest in doing this sort of thing. I don't have the funds to pay a professional editor. So Copilot is my editor. Copilot is not the generator of scripts on the Honest Audiophile channel. Copilot is just the editor.

There it is folks, as clear as I explain it. A conversation with Copilot about its role and how it interacts with me as a content creator. Exampls of how I use it to take my idea and words to make it into a simple but comprehensible post. This is how I roll. Now I am going to copy and paste my review template that Copilot helped me design a few weeks ago. Stay honest. Stay curious. Enjoy the music.   And remember: Honesty is the Best Policy.

🗣 A Quick Note About Me: I’m not a professional sound engineer, producer, or musician. I don’t do lab measurements or scientific testing. What I share here is based on real-world listening, personal comparisons, and a whole lot of reading and research. My background? I’ve spent years volunteering as a sound tech in churches since my teens, and I’ve dabbled with recording, mixing, and mastering gear. These are just my honest impressions—take them as one audiophile’s perspective, shared with clarity and respect.
